Is This You?

Is This You?

When there’s something beyond words that you long to express, see if any of these descriptions sound familiar:

  • You long to express your heart’s deeper wisdom, but haven’t found the way. The idea of developing a visual language is intriguing, as long as it doesn’t require you to try to learn a method that’s unnatural to you. You imagine creating images from your heart in an easy way, but never thought it possible.
  • You treasure your sense of connection with nature. If learning new ways requires you to be tamed, you aren’t willing to compromise your freedom. The more you try to fulfill outer expectations, the more you lose your own sense of inner knowing. You’d like to explore opening yourself up to a heart-centred method that feels like your own, not someone else’s idea of it.
  • On your path of personal discovery, you feel there must be a way to find your unique essence in original visual expression, perhaps like prehistoric humans made cave paintings before writing. You sense that you are missing out on a rich source of learning about your true nature.
  • You have done some image making but you think your efforts are pretty lame and not unique. You wish there were some way to feel a flow of drawing from your heart that speaks of your inner nature, and opens the way to deeper personal discovery.
  • You’ve learned to be embarrassed by your efforts to draw long ago, and so you stopped. You’d like to be able to draw, but lack of confidence makes you hesitate. You wonder wherever to begin, and if you have what it takes to draw anything that would show you what’s in your heart.
  • You may have become bogged down in your journey of making art. Faced with burnout, some take more workshops or read more books, hoping that someone else’s knowledge will spark them into action again. Others stick with the same old approach until staleness sets in.

This is what a client said before she returned for a second course:

“I have been in one of Celeste’s courses and learned her method, and …. not only did I come up with amazing drawings that I never dreamed to do but now when I look at people or trees, plants, animals, I see them differently and I draw them with life inside. I finally love drawing.

Celeste is a great teacher and a pioneer, if you want to discover your hidden talent, take one of her classes NOW!!!!”

One client said:

“I had no formal art education at all, but I wasn’t made to feel intimidated. I’ve learned that there are lots of possibilities, and that I have the freedom to create with no expected end result. There is a joyousness that fills me — it was a chocolate experience !”

Another said:

“I have always felt an initial resistance to begin drawing. Once I get going, it feels like a meditation; but I seem to have something get in the way of just doing it. I’m sure that’s partly because I’ve always felt drawing was my mother’s domain. She was so gifted; I loved to watch her work. Even when I was really little, I remember giving her my crayons and coloring book, because I was much more interested in watching her do it.

But even more than that, I think I hold myself back because what I want to draw feels trapped inside my head. I’ve rarely felt that the result did justice to the idea that I wanted to convey. I just feel really clumsy at it.

The portrait of my son Taylor that I did in your teleclass was the first time I can EVER remember being really delighted with one of my own drawings. It was amazing.”

Then another:

“I expected this class to be all about art techniques, but it wasn’t. There’s no right or wrong. Whatever is my own expression is perfectly okay. It was all about connections, heart and mind.”
